Urgent Request for Transparency
Assalam Alikum,
Overall, this copy of the Quran on Quran.com is excellent, and I love it, but Allah's Quran must be treated with the utmost respect, and it is our duty as Muslims to make sure we honor it, Inshallah.
However, I am beginning to grow very concerned. There are numerous issues that I have emailed and posted on this discussion board, including mispronounced words, smudged portions of the script, and one strange rendering of a word in a verse. I have come across 14 issues in total, and for each issue, I would submit a request and also post it to the general discussion board. No one from Quran.com has responded to any of the mistakes I found. Furthermore, there have been two suspicious events that occurred, one in which I noted a strange rendering of a word in verse 40:05 (Surah Ghafir) of the word "birasoolihim" written in a way that I have not seen in any other Quran. Someone responded to my comment, saying that the rendering was correct when it was not, and when I tried to respond to their comment, my comment would not post and I would get a "pending approval" notice. In the second instance I posted about a smudged text I found in verses 3:184 and 3:185 in the king fahad font. Someone responded to my comment to tell me they can't see the smudged text, although it is clearly there. When I tried to respond with a comment, once again, my comment would not post, and I would get a "pending approval" notice. In these two instances, it seems as if someone is intentionally trying to mislead the believers.
Therefore, I want to request some transparency from the maintainers of this site. We still have no idea who they are. Given that the enemies of Allah are many, this makes me quite uneasy, so please, let us know who you are; we would love to help MAINTAIN the Quran.com site, Inshallah.
